Kenyon Martin Sr. is a retired American professional basketball player renowned for his impactful 15-season career in the National Basketball Association (NBA). Born on December 30, 1977, in Saginaw, Michigan, Martin emerged as a force to be reckoned with as a power forward.
His journey to basketball stardom began at the University of Cincinnati, where he played college basketball for the Bearcats. Martin’s exceptional skills and dominance on the court were evident during his senior season, earning him the title of national college player of the year.
In the 2000 NBA Draft, Martin’s talent was recognized when he was selected as the first overall pick by the New Jersey Nets. Over the course of his illustrious career, he showcased his prowess with various NBA teams, including the New Jersey Nets, Denver Nuggets, Los Angeles Clippers, New York Knicks, and Milwaukee Bucks. His impact was not limited to the United States, as he also took his talents overseas to play for the Xinjiang Flying Tigers in China.
