Kevin Williams

Kevin Williams transitioned from a dominant NFL defensive tackle to a celebrated figure in the sport, recognized for consistent high performance and leadership. After an impressive collegiate tenure at Oklahoma State University, where he started 42 games and amassed 160 tackles, 38 tackles for loss, and 18.5 sacks, helping lead the team to an 8–5 record and a Houston Bowl appearance in 2002, Kevin Williams was selected ninth overall in the first round of the 2003 NFL Draft by the Minnesota Vikings. He immediately made an impact in his rookie year, leading the Vikings with 10.5 sacks, the second-highest by a Vikings rookie. This performance earned him a spot on the NFL All-Rookie Team and recognition as the NFC Defensive Rookie of the Month in December 2003.

Following his long and decorated career with the Vikings, Williams continued to play at an elite level. In 2014, he signed with the Seattle Seahawks, contributing to their defensive efforts and reaching his first Super Bowl, XLIX, that same year. He then joined the New Orleans Saints in 2015 for his final professional season. Williams officially retired from the NFL on July 27, 2016, signing a one-day contract with the Minnesota Vikings to conclude his career with the team where he spent the majority of his successful years.

Williams’ enduring legacy in professional football has been widely recognized. He was named to the prestigious Pro Football Hall of Fame All-2000s Team, acknowledging his dominance throughout the decade. Further honoring his contributions to the Minnesota Vikings, he was inducted into the Minnesota Vikings Ring of Honor, named among the ’50 Greatest Vikings,’ and included in the Minnesota Vikings All-Mall of America Field Team.
