Khris Middleton

James Khristian Middleton was born on August 12, 1991, in Charleston, South Carolina. He attended Porter-Gaud School, where he excelled in basketball, earning state player of the year honors in both his junior and senior seasons before committing to Texas A&M. During his college career at Texas A&M from 2009 to 2012, Middleton steadily developed his skills. He earned second-team All-Big 12 honors in his sophomore year, leading the Aggies in scoring with 14.3 points per game. After his junior season, Middleton declared for the 2012 NBA draft.

He was selected by the Detroit Pistons with the 39th overall pick in the 2012 NBA Draft. His rookie season with the Pistons involved limited court time and a stint with the Fort Wayne Mad Ants in the NBA Development League. In 2013, Middleton was traded to the Milwaukee Bucks, where he began to establish himself as a key player. He played all 82 games in the 2013-14 season, averaging 12.1 points, and continued to improve as a “3-and-D” player in subsequent seasons. His consistent performance led to a significant five-year contract re-signing with the Bucks in 2015.

Middleton’s career with the Bucks saw him overcome an injury in the 2016-17 season to achieve significant milestones. He earned his first NBA All-Star selection in 2019, followed by two more selections in 2020 and 2022. A pivotal moment came in the 2020-21 season when he played a crucial role in leading the Milwaukee Bucks to their first NBA championship since 1971. In the same year, he won an Olympic gold medal with Team USA at the 2020 Summer Olympics. In February 2025, Middleton was traded to the Washington Wizards as part of a four-team trade, marking a new phase in his professional career.
