Kierston Wareing is an English actress known for her roles in films such as ‘It’s a Free World…’ and ‘Fish Tank’, as well as television series including ‘EastEnders’ and ‘Hollyoaks’. After her breakthrough lead role as Angie, an ambitious recruitment agent assisting immigrants, in Ken Loach’s critically acclaimed 2007 film It’s a Free World…, Kierston Wareing garnered significant industry recognition. Her powerful performance earned her nominations for Best Actress and Most Promising Newcomer at the 2007 British Independent Film Awards. Wareing’s career had begun earlier with appearances in the TV series The Bill in 2003 and 2006, initially credited as Fay Wareing.
She then delivered a compelling supporting performance as Joanne in Andrea Arnold’s 2009 film Fish Tank, a project that went on to win the BAFTA award for ‘Best British Film’ and the prestigious Jury Prize at the Cannes Film Festival.
