United States Kim Bokamper has transitioned from a professional football player to a broadcaster and restaurateur, sharing insights from his NFL career and building successful businesses.
Former Miami Dolphins player Kim Bokamper and his partners, P.J. Kavanagh, Damon DeSantis and Noel collaborated to form the PDKN Restaurant Group, which founded Bokamper's Sports Bar & Grill.
Kim Bokamper served as a football analyst for CBS4 Sports, part of the CBS4 Sports team every football season. This included hosting the Dolphins pre-game and post-game shows, and working as a football analyst for News4.
Bokamper hosted "Sports Talk" on 560 WQAM since 1996, was part of the morning team with Kenny Walker, and hosted the weeknight 'Dolphins Tonight' show on WQAM in 2008.
Kim Bokamper is frequently involved with the Miami Dolphins organization through media partnerships and content creation, including hosting 'The Audible' a program streamed live and via podcast from MiamiDolphins.com. He also hosts a weekly check-in with the Head Coach through "The Coach's Show."
Bud Light sponsored his 'Draft Memories' and 'Draft Stories' content with the Miami Dolphins, where he recounted his NFL draft experience.
Kim Bokamper was born on September 25, 1954, in San Diego, California. He attended Milpitas High School before continuing his education and playing college football at Concordia-Moorhead (MN) and San Jose State. His athletic performance during his college years led to him being recognized as a Second-team All-American in 1975.
His professional football career began when he was selected by the Miami Dolphins in the first round (19th overall) of the 1976 NFL Draft. Bokamper spent his entire nine-year NFL career with the Miami Dolphins, playing as a linebacker and defensive end from 1977 to 1985. During his time with the Dolphins, he was a member of the ‘Killer B’s defense’ in the early 1980s. A notable achievement includes his selection to the Pro Bowl in 1979 and being part of the 1977 NFL All-Rookie Team. He started as a defensive end in Super Bowl XVII and Super Bowl XIX, showcasing his versatility and importance to the team.
Following his retirement from professional football, Bokamper transitioned into a career in broadcasting, working as a sports analyst for various platforms, including CBS4 Sports and WQAM. He has also ventured into the restaurant industry, launching ‘Bokamper’s Sports Bar & Grill’ and ‘Bo’s Beach’ in South Florida. His post-NFL career also includes hosting ‘The Audible’ for MiamiDolphins.com, where he interviews team personalities. He actively supports various charitable organizations, such as the American Cancer Association, the Cystic Fibrosis Association, the United Way, and Special Olympics.
