Singer, songwriter, producer and YouTuber Kim Caputo is bringing unpolished emotion and rawness to the Los Angeles’ pop music scene. The fast-rising music sensation and social media starlet rose to prominence thanks to her eponymous YouTube channel, where she garnered huge popularity for turning captions from top influencer’s social media posts into songs in a series called “I wrote a song”. The talented young songstress has now racked up close to 220k subscribers on YouTube and her videos have been viewed more than 15 million times. In 2018 she dropped her debut EP If My Heart Could Talk and followed with her catchy, atmospheric track ‘Not Ready for Love’ in 2019. In 2021 the singer showcased her silky smooth vocals on the electro pop banger ‘F It Up’,
A New Jersey native, Caputo is a self-taught musician and vocalist who has been inspired and influenced by the Los Angeles’ pop scene community since she was a young girl. The rising star started her YouTube channel in 2014 posting song covers, but wanted to find a way to stand out from other singer/songwriters on the platform. After seeing a trend where people wrote a song in 15 minutes, she took the concept to the next level with her series “Writing a song using only texts from my ex”. She then followed with her series of “Writing a song using only Instagram models captions”, and people began to take notice of what she was doing as her popularity soared.
There’s no doubt Caputo’s music career is on an unstoppable rise, but for now she still finds time to record new content for her ever-popular YouTube channel.
