Kira Kosarin

Kira Kosarin was born on October 7, 1997. Her upbringing involved extensive exposure to the performing arts, as both of her parents were Broadway performers; her mother was an actress, and her father worked as a music director, conductor, and record producer. Kosarin engaged in dance and gymnastics during her early years, also studying ballet at the Boca Ballet Theatre and attending Pine Crest School. In 2011, she relocated to Los Angeles, California, to pursue a professional acting career after participating in an acting workshop. She then continued her education at Brighton Hall School, a common choice for young performers.

Kosarin made her television debut in 2012 on the Disney Channel series ‘Shake It Up.’ Her breakthrough role came in 2013 as Phoebe Thunderman in the Nickelodeon comedy series ‘The Thundermans,’ a role she held for 98 episodes until 2018. During this period, she expanded into other projects, including the Nickelodeon television film ‘One Crazy Cruise’ (2015) and appearances in other Nickelodeon shows like ‘Henry Danger’ (2016) and ‘Knight Squad’ (2018). In April 2019, Kosarin joined the cast of the Hulu horror series ‘Light as a Feather’ for its second season, portraying the character Nadia across six episodes. In March 2023, Nickelodeon initiated production of a ‘Thundermans’ follow-up movie, ‘The Thundermans Return,’ with Kosarin reprising her role and serving as an executive producer. Following the film’s success, a sequel series, ‘The Thundermans: Undercover,’ began production in May 2024, again featuring Kosarin in her role and as an executive producer.

Simultaneously with her acting career, Kosarin developed her musical endeavors. She independently released her debut single, “Spy,” in March 2018, followed by “Vinyl” in January 2019 and several other singles. Her debut album, ‘Off Brand,’ was released independently in April 2019. In July 2020, she released an extended play titled ‘Songbird.’ A significant career development occurred in March 2022 when Kosarin signed with Republic Records, a major music label. Her first single under the label, “Mood Ring,” was released on March 11, 2022. She released another EP, ‘Something New,’ in 2022.
