Jazz Jennings is a YouTube personality, spokesperson, TV personality, and LGBT rights activist. She is famous for being one of the youngest people to be publicly identified as transgender. She is an honorary co-founder of the TransKids Purple Rainbow Foundation, which her parents founded in 2007 to assist transgender youth, and in 2013, she founded Purple Rainbow Tails, a company in which she fashions rubber mermaid tails to raise money for transgender children.
Born and raised in Florida, Jennings was born male but identified as female as soon as he could talk, and at six-years-old began appearing on TV to speak about the challenges of growing up transgender with her family. Her story has since been covered by such programmes as 20/20, and The Rosie Show, and featured in many magazines, including People. In 2018 she started undergoing gender reassignment surgery.
Jennings regularly connects with her millions of followers and fans through TikTok, Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram, posting pictures and comments about her day-to-day life. She also has a dedicated YouTube channel, Jazz Jennings.
