Kolo Toure is one of the most beloved professional footballers to have ever stepped on the pitch, enjoying incredible success wherever he goes. He remains in the game since retiring and currently occupies roles as first team coach with Leicester City and Ivory Coast.
Toure started his career with ASEC Mimosas before moving to Arsenal in 2002. His most notable success with the Gunners came during the 2003-04 season where he was a vital part of the defence that saw Arsenal complete a whole season unbeaten. He made over 225 appearances for the Gunners and scored nine goals. While at the Gunners he also won two FA Cups and was a runner-up in the Champions League.
Toure then moved to Manchester City in the summer of 2009 and played alongside his brother Yaya Toure for the first time in his career. He was a vital member of the team that won the first league title for City in 44 years in 2013. In doing so, he also became one of only eight players to have won the Premier League with two different clubs. He almost upped this figure to three during his time with Liverpool, but ultimately the Reds fell short.
After three seasons with Liverpool Toure moved to Celtic, where he would win the Scottish Premiership in his final season in football before retiring in 2017. The defender is the second-most capped player for the Ivory Coast, after winning 120 caps during his 15-year international career. A widely recognised figure within international football, he has represented the team in the 2006, 2010 and 2014 World Cups.
