About

Lamon Archey, born on April 9, 1981, in Daly City, California, and raised in San Mateo, began his career in the entertainment industry after being scouted for modeling. Initially working as a carpenter and emergency veterinary technician after high school, Archey moved to Los Angeles in 2001. His modeling career quickly gained momentum, leading to features for major brands such as Macy’s, Gap Inc., Kohl’s, Armani, and Dolce & Gabbana. A significant early career milestone came in 2004 when Beyoncé personally selected him to be her love interest in Destiny’s Child’s “Cater 2 U” music video, a role that further elevated his visibility. This period not only established his presence in front of the camera but also helped him develop confidence.

Archey transitioned into acting by undertaking classes based on his manager’s advice. His early acting credits included a short film, Let’s Get Laid! (2010), and appearances in commercials for major corporations such as Chase Bank, McDonald’s, and Gap Inc. In 2011, he secured his first television role as a Centerville Cop in two episodes of Days of Our Lives. This was followed by a recurring role as Mason Wilder on the CBS soap opera The Young and the Restless from 2012 to 2014, appearing in 39 episodes. During this time, he also featured in the TV Series Diary of a Champion in 2013 and starred in the short film The B Word in 2014.

His career continued to expand with guest appearances in various television series, including Cooper Barrett’s Guide to Surviving Life, 2 Broke Girls, and a recurring role as Detective Rick Davidson in Roadies, all in 2016. He further appeared in the films The Woman in the Red Dress and voiced the narration for Dope Boys that same year. A pivotal turning point came in 2017 when Archey returned to Days of Our Lives in the contract role of Eli Grant. This role, which he held from 2017 to 2022, and later reprised in 2023 and 2024, spanned 425 episodes and saw him become part of the first Black marriage on the show. Concurrently, he took on the recurring role of D’Angelo Carter (later Principal Carter) in The CW hit series All American from 2020 to 2024, appearing in 20 episodes. Archey has also moved into production and writing with his company Disrupt Media, with projects like the short film Nutcase and the drama Draw in development.
