United States Les Snead has established himself as a prominent NFL executive, leading the Los Angeles Rams to a Super Bowl victory through strategic team building.
In his role as General Manager, Snead partners with Head Coach Sean McVay to direct all personnel decisions for the club. He also coordinates all aspects of the club's football operations with the Head Coach and collaborates with team president Kevin Demoff and Vice President of Football & Business Administration, Tony Pastoors, on the team's business ventures.

Les Snead, born on January 19, 1971, in Eufaula, Alabama, played tight end for Auburn from 1992-93 and was part of their undefeated 11-0 team in 1993. He earned Southeast Region Academic All-American honors during his college career. After obtaining a Bachelor of Science degree in psychology and a Master of Education degree from Auburn, he began his professional career as a graduate assistant. In 1995, Snead joined the Jacksonville Jaguars as a pro scout, contributing to a team that reached the AFC Championship in its second year. He then spent 13 seasons with the Atlanta Falcons (1998-2011), initially as a pro scout before being promoted to Director of Player Personnel from 2009-11. During his tenure in Atlanta, he was part of a personnel staff that acquired 16 Pro Bowl players and built a team that achieved 43 wins from 2008-11, securing five consecutive winning seasons and two NFC Championship game appearances.
In February 2012, Les Snead was hired as the General Manager of the Los Angeles Rams. He immediately embarked on a substantial rebuild of the franchise, which had a 15-65 record from 2007-2011. His early strategic moves included a landmark trade in 2012 that sent the 2nd overall pick to Washington, acquiring multiple first and second-round picks. This aggressive approach allowed him to draft key players like Michael Brockers, Janoris Jenkins, Greg Zuerlein, and Johnny Hekker. In the 2014 NFL Draft, he selected Aaron Donald (No. 13 overall), who became an NFL Defensive Rookie of the Year and a multiple NFL Defensive Player of the Year. In 2015, Snead drafted Todd Gurley (No. 10 overall), who earned NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year honors despite injury concerns. In 2016, a significant trade with the Tennessee Titans allowed the Rams to draft quarterback Jared Goff (No. 1 overall).
Under Snead’s leadership, the Rams relocated to Los Angeles and experienced renewed success. Following the hiring of Head Coach Sean McVay in 2017, Snead continued to make impactful personnel decisions. He acquired Robert Woods and Andrew Whitworth in free agency and drafted Cooper Kupp (No. 69 overall) in the 2017 NFL Draft, who would later achieve the receiving triple crown and Super Bowl LVI MVP. His tenure is marked by strategic, aggressive trades for veteran players, notably Matthew Stafford in 2021, and mid-season acquisitions of Von Miller and Odell Beckham Jr., which were crucial to the Rams’ Super Bowl LVI championship in 2022. Snead has orchestrated 87 trades since 2012, drafted 112 players, and has led the Rams to seven winning seasons, six postseason appearances, two Super Bowl appearances, and one world championship, making him the winningest General Manager in franchise history with 119 wins.
