Lily James’ breakthrough came with her portrayal of Lady Rose MacClare in the acclaimed period drama ‘Downton Abbey’ (2012–2015), where she became a main character in the fourth and fifth series. Prior to this, James made her television debut in the 2010 BBC production of ‘Just William’ and appeared in ITV’s ‘Secret Diary of a Call Girl’ in 2011.
