Lindsay van Zundert

Lindsay van Zundert, born on February 1, 2005, in Etten-Leur, Netherlands, began her skating career at the age of seven. She steadily progressed through the ranks, first competing in domestic Belgian events. Her early achievements included winning the Dutch advanced novice national championship in both 2017 and 2018, followed by the Dutch junior national title in 2019. These foundational years were marked by dedicated training and a commitment to competitive figure skating.

Van Zundert’s senior career commenced with a debut at the 2020 CS Nebelhorn Trophy. A significant milestone occurred in 2021 when she secured her spot for the 2022 Winter Olympics in Beijing, marking the first time a Dutch figure skater had qualified for the Olympic ladies’ event since 1976. During the Olympics, she placed eighteenth overall. She earned multiple accolades, including being a three-time Dutch national champion. She notably placed 16th at the 2021 World Championships and achieved personal best scores of 175.81 (Total), 59.24 (Short Program), and 116.78 (Free Skating) at the 2022 Winter Olympics and 2021 World Championships, respectively.

In August 2024, at the age of 19, Van Zundert announced her retirement from competitive skating, citing a lack of energy and motivation. She has since transitioned to a new role as a figure skating coach, founding Vision on Ice. Her career progression saw her through international competitions such as the ISU Grand Prix series, including Skate Canada International, Grand Prix de France, and NHK Trophy, as well as multiple ISU Challenger Series events like the Nebelhorn Trophy and Finlandia Trophy.
