Model, actor and author Liris Crosse is a pioneer in the fashion world for African-American women and full-figured women. During her career she has changed the narrative for models in the fashion industry since becoming the first full-figured model to win hit reality show Project Runway and in 2015 became the first Black model to star in the Goddess Lingerie campaign. One of a select group of models to grace the catwalk for Project Runway’s first-ever plus-size collection, she has also featured in magazines including Essence, American Vogue, O Magazine and British Cosmopolitan and was one of the signature models in the promo commercial for the show “Curvy Style With Timothy Snell”.
Crosse exploded onto the fashion scene when she became the first plus-sized winner of Project Runway on season 16 of the hit show, but her success on the reality program was only the beginning. She has now published her first book, Make the World Your Runway. Inspired by both her fans and the boot camp she taught for raising women’s confidence on the Steve Harvey Show, her book helps other women be the best version of themselves.
The inspirational beauty is also an in-demand keynote speaker and provides industry training for up-and-coming models, also sharing her secrets for success and positivity through her Life of A Working Model Boot Camp. Crosse has undoubtedly left a lasting legacy on the fashion industry, and there is much more to come from this talented trailblazer.
