Lisa “Longball” Vlooswyk

Lisa “Longball” Vlooswyk (B.Ed., B.A.) has established a distinguished career in professional golf, marked by significant competitive achievements and contributions to the sport. She holds the title of 8-Time Canadian Long Drive National Champion and has achieved a ranking as high as 2nd in the World Championships on two occasions (2009 & 2011). Vlooswyk is also an LDA Tour Champion and has been a sponsored athlete by Callaway Golf. Notably, she was the first woman to hit a drive over 350 yards in competition, specifically 350 yards, 2 feet, 2 inches, an accomplishment equivalent to the length of three and a half NFL football fields. Her competitive career also includes being a Sixteen-Time World Long Drive Finalist and a former Canadian Women’s Tour Player.

Beyond her competitive endeavors, Vlooswyk has made extensive contributions to the golf community as a journalist and educator. She has served as a Golf Journalist for Inside Golf Magazine and formerly contributed a column to Golf Digest Canada. Her commitment to instruction is evident through her ownership of a Golf School for Women, operating in both Canada and the United States. Vlooswyk also utilizes her experience as a world-class athlete to deliver motivational keynote speeches on peak performance at conferences and conventions. She regularly performs as a Golf Entertainer at corporate and charity golf tournaments across North America, including PGA Tour and Champions Tour events.

Throughout her career, Vlooswyk has accumulated various honors and played pivotal roles in promoting women’s golf. She was recognized as Golfweek Magazine’s Golf Fest Entertainer of the Year at the Villages in 2014 and received the BMO Celebrating Women Award for Expansion and Growth in Small Business in 2016. Vlooswyk has been the Canadian Lead Ambassador for Women’s Golf Day since its inception in 2016 and received the Inspire Action Award for Women’s Golf Day in 2018. Her involvement extends to governance, as she served on the Alberta Golf Association Recreational & Community Events Committee from 2017 to present and became the First Female Board Member of the Hockey Alberta Foundation in 2020. She is also a member of the Golf Journalists Association of Canada and volunteers on their Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Committee. Prior to her full-time golf career, Vlooswyk worked as an Elementary and Junior High School Teacher from 1997 to 2004.
