Lizzy Caplan

Elizabeth Anne Caplan was born on June 30, 1982, in Los Angeles, California. She grew up in the Miracle Mile district and attended Alexander Hamilton High School, where she developed an interest in acting. After graduating in 2000, Caplan pursued acting professionally, making her on-screen debut in the TV movie “From Where I Sit” in 2000. Her early career also included roles in TV shows such as “Freaks and Geeks” (1999–2000) and “Smallville” (2001–2003).

Caplan’s breakthrough came with her role as Janis Ian in the 2004 hit film “Mean Girls,” which brought her wider recognition. She continued to build her filmography with appearances in “Cloverfield” (2008), “Hot Tub Time Machine” (2010), and “127 Hours” (2010). A significant turning point in her career was her role as Virginia E. Johnson in the Showtime series “Masters of Sex” (2013–2016), for which she received an Emmy nomination. This role showcased her ability to embody complex characters and earned her critical acclaim.
