Denmark Daniel Bachmann Andersen is a World Champion and Olympic medalist in equestrian dressage, transitioning his success in competitive riding into a prominent figure in the equestrian world.

All of Daniel's horses are now wearing rubber-coated, shock-absorbing shoes from the Swedish brand Öllöv Softstep.
Daniel Bachmann Andersen was born on June 1, 1990, in Sønderborg, Denmark. He began riding at the age of 10 and developed an interest in dressage after meeting Danish Olympian Morten Thomsen, who hailed from his same village. This early exposure to high-level dressage helped shape his career path. He further honed his skills by training horses in Germany before returning to Denmark to work for Andreas Helgstrand. In 2014, Andersen joined Blue Hors stud, a partnership that would significantly elevate his profile in the dressage community. During his six years at Blue Hors, he achieved notable success with several horses, including Zack, Don Olymbrio, Zepter, Loxana, and Hotline. He became the Danish national champion in 2019, secured fourth place at the World Cup Finals in Göteborg, and finished seventh in the individual freestyle at the European Championships in Rotterdam in the same year. He also reached a ranking of 10th in the world with his horse Zack.
In May 2020, Daniel Bachmann Andersen made the decision to leave Blue Hors and establish his own independent operation. He initially set up at Cathrine Rasmussen’s Kleppenhus in Ebeltoft, and later rented boxes at Agnete Kirk Thinggaard’s Julianelyst. His career has been marked by significant international achievements, including a team gold medal at the 2022 World Championships held in Herning, Denmark. In 2024, he represented Denmark at the Olympic Games in Paris, where he earned a silver medal in the team dressage competition and placed seventh in the individual freestyle with his horse Vayron.
Four years after becoming independent, Andersen purchased his own yard, the Ejlersgaard farm, located in Malling, Denmark. He and his family are preparing to move to this new property, which includes 21 stables, in August. This move represents a significant milestone in his independent career, providing a permanent base for his operations. He continues to compete at the highest levels of equestrian sport while expanding his personal and professional endeavors.
