About

Born on January 19, 1992, in Beverly Hills, California, Logan Lerman expressed an interest in acting at the age of two and a half. By four, he had secured an agent and appeared in commercials. His film debut came in 2000 as William Martin, Mel Gibson’s youngest son in “The Patriot.” That same year, he played a younger version of Mel Gibson’s character in “What Women Want.” Following a role in 2001’s “Riding in Cars with Boys,” Lerman starred in the made-for-television film “A Painted House” (2003), based on a John Grisham novel, portraying nine-year-old Luke Chandler. This role earned him his first Young Artist Award. He continued to gain experience with a guest role in “10-8: Officers on Duty” and a prominent role as a young Evan Treborn in “The Butterfly Effect” (2004).

In 2004, Lerman took on a co-leading role in the WB Network series “Jack & Bobby,” portraying Robert “Bobby” McCallister, a teenager destined to become President. Although the series was short-lived, it marked a turning point where Lerman began to approach acting with greater seriousness. He followed this with his first starring film role as Roy Eberhardt in the family adventure “Hoot” (2006). The next year, he appeared in the thriller “The Number 23” and earned critical acclaim for his performance as William Evans in the Western remake “3:10 to Yuma” (2007), starring alongside Russell Crowe and Christian Bale. His diverse filmography continued with roles in independent films like “Meet Bill” (2008) and “My One and Only” (2009), demonstrating his versatility across genres.

A significant milestone in Lerman’s career came in 2010 when he starred as the titular character in “Percy Jackson & the Olympians: The Lightning Thief,” bringing wider recognition to his work. He then portrayed d’Artagnan in “The Three Musketeers” (2011), a role he took due to the book’s significance to his paternal grandfather. In 2012, Lerman garnered critical praise for his lead performance as Charlie Kelmeckis in the coming-of-age drama “The Perks of Being a Wallflower,” which earned him a Teen Choice Award. He reprised his role in “Percy Jackson: Sea of Monsters” (2013) and later appeared in acclaimed films such as Darren Aronofsky’s “Noah” (2014) and David Ayer’s World War II drama “Fury” (2014) with Brad Pitt. Lerman expanded his involvement behind the camera, serving as an executive producer for “Indignation” (2016), where he also delivered a highly praised performance as Marcus Messner, and for “The Vanishing of Sidney Hall” (2017). More recently, he starred in the Amazon series “Hunters” (2020–2023) and co-produced the film “Press Play” (2022).
