Lucas Brentley Adams was born on July 24, 1993, in Sherman, Texas. He spent his early childhood on a farm in a small Texas town. With an early interest in both athletics and acting, Adams excelled in high school, earning All-District honors in football, basketball, and baseball. After high school, he decided to pursue his passion for acting and moved to Los Angeles. This move marked a significant turning point, transitioning him from a rural upbringing to the entertainment industry. He quickly secured a television commercial for Toyota Tundra, which set the stage for further opportunities in film and television.
Adams gained recognition for his role as Josh Wilcox on Disney Channel’s “Liv and Maddie” from 2015 to 2017, appearing in 11 episodes. His career continued to advance with his arrival on “Days of Our Lives” in March 2017, where he portrayed Tripp Dalton (later Tripp Johnson/Tripp Dalton Johnson). This role became a cornerstone of his career, earning him two Daytime Emmy Award nominations for “Outstanding Younger Actor in a Drama Series” in 2018 and 2019. He maintained this role for several periods, from 2017 to 2019, 2020 to 2022, and again from 2022 to 2024, accumulating 433 episodes across the main series and spin-offs like “Days of Our Lives: Beyond Salem” and “Days of Our Lives: A Very Salem Christmas.
Beyond his work in daytime television, Adams has also appeared in various films and prime-time series. His film credits include “Confessional” (2019) as Major, “Kidnapped by a Classmate” (2020) as Hunter, and “American Pie Presents: Girls’ Rules” (2020) as McCormick. His television appearances span across several notable shows such as “True Blood” (2014), “Dexter” (2012), “Grimm” (2015), “Those Who Can’t” (2016–2019), “School of Rock” (2016), and “The Thundermans” (2016). In a significant career development, it was announced in September 2025 that Adams would join “The Young and the Restless” as Noah Newman, a role he previously held briefly in 2012 as “Wesley” and is slated to return to as “Noah Newman” in 2025.
