West made her professional debut in 2019, quickly gaining recognition for her role as Bethany Bisme-Lyons in the BBC One and HBO series, ‘Years and Years’. She later played Lucy in the 2020 BBC One/Netflix series ‘Dracula’.

West’s work on ‘It’s a Sin’ in 2021, where she portrayed Jill Baxter, brought her widespread critical acclaim, including a BAFTA nomination. This role highlighted her capacity for emotionally resonant performances. She continued to appear in prominent television productions such as Apple TV+’s ‘Suspicion’ (2022) as Monique Thompson, Netflix’s ‘The Pentaverate’ (2022) as Reilly Clayton, and ‘Inside Man’ (2022) as Beth Davenport. Her film credits include ‘People You May Know’ (2021), ‘Love Again’ (2023), and ‘Coffee Wars’ (2023).

In 2024, Lydia West starred as Eddie in the Channel 4 and Tubi series ‘Big Mood’. Her involvement in this series extended to an executive producer role for its second season, announced in September 2025.
