Maci Morris concluded her decorated collegiate career as the University of Kentucky’s sixth all-time leading scorer with 1,692 points and second all-time in career three-pointers made with 252. Her impressive journey began at Bell County High School, where she was a varsity starter from eighth grade, ultimately being recognized as Miss Kentucky Basketball and a three-time All-State honoree by the CJ and Lexington Herald-Leader. Morris finished her high school tenure with 3,368 career points, ranking sixth in state history, and averaged 25.6 points and 7.9 rebounds her senior year, leading Bell County to a 29-3 record and a Sweet 16 appearance. Nationally, she was ranked as the 10th-best shooting guard by espnW.
During this season, Morris scored 20 or more points in seven consecutive games against SEC opponents, a rare feat achieved by only one other player in program history. She also recorded a career-high 35 points against #8 South Carolina on February 18, 2018, and set the UK record for highest single-season three-point percentage at 48.4%. Her academic commitment was also notable, earning consecutive SEC Academic Honor Roll inclusions in 2017 and 2018, alongside an All-SEC Second Team selection by league coaches in 2018. Morris’s senior season, 2018-19, brought widespread national recognition, including being named to the Preseason All-SEC First Team by league coaches.
Following her distinguished collegiate career, Morris briefly played professional basketball for USE Scotti Empoli in Italy. Leveraging the same discipline and strategic thinking that defined her athletic success, Morris has since transitioned into the field of emergency medicine, where she is currently pursuing a career as a Physician Assistant.
