Marcel Alejandro Ruiz Suárez is a young Mexican professional footballer who currently plays for Liga MX club Tijuana as an attacking midfielder. He was a member of the Querétaro junior team during his club career, making his senior debut in Liga MX against Atlas football club in 2018. In August of that year, he scored his first goal for the squad, a 1–0 victory over Club Universidad Nacional, making him the season’s youngest goalscorer at the age of 17. In 2019, he earned the Pan American Bronze Medal as a teenager.
Suárez has also had a successful international career. Diego Ramrez summoned him up for a training camp with the Mexico national under-20 football team ahead of the 2018 CONCACAF U-20 Championship and matches against Brazil and Japan. Later in his career, Jaime Lozano called him up to play for Mexico’s national under-23 squad at the 2019 Pan American Games. Mexico won the bronze medal in the tournament after winning the third-place match.
He played in Liga MX for Querétaro Futbol Club, popularly known as Gallos Blancos de Querétaro, from 2018 to 2020. Suárez played with Club Tijuana, also known as Club Tijuana Xoloitzcuintles de Caliente, from 2019 to 2022. He briefly overlapped seasons while playing with Querétaro and Tijuana.
