Mark Consuelos

Mark Consuelos was born in Zaragoza, Spain, on March 30, 1971, to an Italian mother and a Mexican father. He spent his early years living in Italy. At the age of five, his family moved to the United States, settling first in Lebanon, Illinois, and later residing in Brandon, Florida. He attended Bloomingdale Senior High School in Valrico, Florida. Consuelos pursued higher education at the University of Notre Dame before transferring to the University of South Florida, where he earned a bachelor’s degree in marketing in 1994. Prior to his acting breakthrough, he performed as a dancer with the Suncoast Calendar Men in Clearwater, Florida.

Consuelos gained recognition in February 1995 when he was cast in the role of Mateo Santos on the ABC soap opera “All My Children.” He remained with the series until 2002 and reprised his role in 2010. During his tenure on “All My Children,” he met and married his co-star Kelly Ripa in May 1996. After leaving “All My Children,” Consuelos appeared in films such as “The Great Raid” (2005), “My Super Ex-Girlfriend” (2006), and “Nine Lives” (2016). His television credits also include roles in “1-800-Missing” (2004–2006), “American Horror Story: Asylum” (2012–2013), and “Pitch” (2016). He took on the series regular role of Hiram Lodge in The CW drama “Riverdale” from 2017 to 2023.

In 2023, Consuelos became the permanent co-host of the daytime talk show “Live with Kelly and Mark” alongside his wife, Kelly Ripa. This transition marked a significant point in his career, expanding his presence in live television. He has also engaged in producing, with executive producer credits on various television projects, including “Summer Breeze” (2025) and “The Sanchez Way” (upcoming). His career has been acknowledged with awards, including the American Latino Media Arts Award for Outstanding Actor in a Daytime Soap Opera in 1998 and 1999, and a Daytime Emmy Award for Outstanding Entertainment Talk Show Host in 2024.
