Matt Cornett

Matt Cornett was born on October 6, 1998, in Rogers, Arkansas, the youngest son of Art and Rhonda Cornett. He spent his early years in a rural setting alongside his older brother and sister before making the move to Los Angeles in 2012 to pursue an acting career. His early work included television series such as ‘Nightmare U’ in 2012, where he played Daniel, and a guest role as Lou in the crime drama ‘Southland’ in 2013, for which he received a Young Artist Award for Best Performance in a TV Series – Guest Starring Young Actor in 2014.

Throughout the mid-2010s, Cornett continued to build his acting portfolio with roles in various films and television series. He appeared as Glenn in ‘I Think My Babysitter’s an Alien’ in 2015 and as Carter in the television film ‘The Dunes Club’ that same year. He then gained recognition for his recurring role as Zach Barnes in the comedy series ‘Bella and the Bulldogs’ from 2015 to 2016, earning another Young Artist Award in 2016 for Best Performance in a TV Series – Recurring Young Actor. His career progressed with guest appearances in established shows like ‘Criminal Minds’ and ‘The Middle’ in 2016, and ‘Life in Pieces’ from 2017 to 2018. In 2018, he starred as Logan Wills in the film ‘Alex & Me’ and as Nathan Schurzer in the television film ‘Perfect Citizens’.

A significant turning point in Cornett’s career began in 2019 when he was cast in the main role of E.J. Caswell in the Disney+ series ‘High School Musical: The Musical: The Series,’ a role he held until 2023. This role allowed him to demonstrate his acting and musical talents. Following this, he took on the role of A-Lan in the Disney Channel Original Movie ‘Zombies 3,’ released in 2022. He has also been announced for the lead role of Sam in the upcoming Amazon series adaptation of ‘Every Year After’ and as Max Warren in the 2025 film ‘Summer of 69’, further solidifying his presence in popular youth-oriented productions.
