Matt Taven

Matt Taven made his impactful debut for Ring of Honor (ROH) in May 2009, quickly establishing himself as a formidable competitor after beginning his professional wrestling career in March 2008 on the Northeastern independent circuit. His career trajectory accelerated significantly in 2013 when he won ROH’s Top Prospects Tournament, securing a full-time contract and an ROH World Television Championship match. Taven capitalized on this opportunity, defeating Adam Cole to claim the ROH World Television Championship at the 11th Anniversary Show. He went on to hold the title for an impressive 287 days, setting a company record with 12 successful title defenses.

Later that year, in October 2022, Taven joined All Elite Wrestling (AEW), expanding his presence across major promotions. Currently, Taven remains a prominent figure in Ring of Honor, now AEW’s sister promotion, notably as a member of ‘The Undisputed Kingdom’ stable. His recent achievements include winning the ROH World Tag Team Championship for an impressive third time in 2023, again alongside Mike Bennett, solidifying his status as a decorated tag team specialist and a consistent championship contender across the professional wrestling landscape.
