Described as the “makeup artist to the fierce, famous and the ferocious,” Kristofer Buckle has worked with some of the biggest stars in the industry. His work has featured on numerous covers and the pages of major publications such as Vogue, Allure, Marie Claire, Harper’s Bazaar, Glamour, InStyle, Cosmopolitan and Rolling Stone. When he’s not on high profile shoots, Buckle can be found working on some of the most iconic music videos of our time. From creating looks for Mariah Carey and Christina Aguilera to Kelly Ripa, Blake Lively and Jessica Chastain, Buckle is renowned for his natural flair for designs that celebrate natural beauty.
But the moment that started it all was when this New York native began his career at the Metropolitan Opera. Scouted by an actress while walking through Penn Station for his own personal style, Buckle launched his career at the Metropolitan Opera. As his notoriety soared, revolutionary photographer Steven Meisel booked Buckle for the cover of Vogue Italia, and the rest is history.
A makeup aficionado, Buckle’s personal mantra, “Why be beautiful when you can be anything?” sparked the idea to create his own makeup line. With the goal to “encourage individuality through the transformative power of makeup,” Buckle’s artistry inspired formulas have taken the beauty industry by storm. Whether he’s leading the makeup department on Christina Aguilera’s feature film Burlesque or transforming X Factor contestants into stars, Buckle is a craftsman.
