About

Megan Nick was born on July 9, 1996, in Shelburne, Vermont. She began her athletic career in gymnastics, a discipline she credits with developing the acrobatic skills essential for freestyle skiing. This background provided a foundation for her later transition into aerial skiing. During her final year of high school, Nick attended an aerial ski development camp in Lake Placid, marking a pivotal moment in her career path. She later pursued higher education at the University of Utah.

Nick’s career in freestyle skiing saw significant achievements, particularly in the FIS World Cup circuit. In 2020, she earned a silver medal in aerials at Oi Qaragai. Her performance continued to strengthen, leading to two gold medals in aerials at the FIS World Cup events in Raubichi and Yaroslavi, both in 2021. These successes established her as a competitive aerial skier on the international stage. Her most notable achievement came at the Beijing 2022 Winter Olympics, where she secured a bronze medal in Women’s Aerials, marking her first Olympic medal.

At the 2022 Winter Olympics, Nick navigated through the qualification rounds and advanced to Final 2. Despite executing a routine that included a double full-full, which was less technically difficult than some competitors who attempted triple backflips, she maintained precision and landed cleanly. This strategy resulted in her securing a bronze medal, a notable accomplishment given the level of competition. She is a 1-time Olympian and 1-time Olympic medalist. Her most recent World Championships participation was in 2023, where she finished 19th in Women’s Aerials.
