Motivational speaker, pro wrestler, actor, proud dad and recovering drug addict Mike Bennett is a man-mountain full of life, humour, dedication and strength. He is a true winner who never gives in.
Bennett began wrestling in 2002 around the independent circuit and made his Ring of Honor (ROH) pro-wrestling debut in 2008. He performed under the character name The Prodigy and, with his then girlfriend Maria Kanellis, worked as part of The Kingdom stable with fellow wrestler Matt Taven. They went on to win the ROH World Tag Team Championship, and set up a wrestling school in Rhode Island soon afterwards. Bennett left ROH in 2015, signing up to rival promotion Impact Wrestling, where he won the Impact X Division Championship. In 2017 he then joined his now wife Maria in WWE working under her maiden name, Kanellis, going on to hold the WWE 24/7 Championship twice. In 2020, both Mike and Maria were sadly released from their WWE contracts (along with many other stars) due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Bennett went back to the independent circuit and has recently made a return to Ring of Honor (ROH).
Always happy to communicate with his legions of adoring fans and regularly offering a positive outlook on life, Bennett posts on Twitter and Instagram. He is also available for that ROH inspirational shout-out via the Cameo platform.
