Matt Cardona

Matt Cardona is a widely celebrated American professional wrestler. He is most famous for his time in WWE with the ring name ‘Zack Ryder’. He is a popular social media influencer with 1.8m followers on Instagram. Cardona has his own web show which has a growing fan base. Born in Merrick New York, from his early years he wanted to be a wrestler and loved the WWE.

He says he developed perseverance early in life as he had cancer in high school. His desire to be a wrestler helped him fight the cancer and achieve his dream, following his passion and finding physical and psychological strength through it.
Cardona made his debut in professional wrestling in New York in 2004. He had the name Brett Matthews. With his long-time partner Curt Hawkins he was signed by WWE the next year. He changed his name to Zack Ryder in 2007 and later won a WWE Tag team Championship with Curt Hawkins.

He became a member of the WWE Tag team known as ‘La Familia’. His achievements include being a 2-time ‘Deep South Wrestling (DSW) Tag Team Champion’ and one time ‘WWE Intercontinental Champion’.
He was part of the famous WWE Tag team known as the ‘Hype Bros’. Cardona was crowned one time ‘WWE United States Champion’ and also one time ‘New York Wrestling Connection Tag Team Champion’. His catchphrase is “Woo Woo Woo, You Know it!” Cardona now lives in Orlando Florida and is engaged to Canadian professional wrestler Chelsea Green.
