His early life involved overcoming substance abuse, as he became addicted to OxyContin and heroin in his late teens and early 20s. He successfully achieved sobriety in 2010. Majlak’s professional journey began with roles in marketing, including working as an event photographer in 2012 and a freelance writer for “The Essential Foodie” in 2013. He attended Fordham University, although he did not complete his studies there. His experiences navigating early career challenges and personal struggles provided some of the foundational elements for his later work.
His career significantly progressed in marketing when he joined LoveSac, a furniture retailer, as a marketing manager in 2017. During his time at LoveSac, Majlak was instrumental in building the company’s partnerships and influencer programs. It was also at LoveSac that he met Logan Paul, a pivotal encounter that would shape his future. Following Paul’s “suicide forest” controversy, Majlak moved to Los Angeles to work closely with Paul, reportedly to “babysit” him and help manage his online presence. This collaboration led to the co-founding of the successful podcast “Impaulsive,” where Majlak serves as an executive partner and co-host. “Impaulsive” has achieved widespread popularity, hosting numerous celebrities and accumulating millions of subscribers.
In addition to his work with “Impaulsive,” Majlak maintains his own YouTube channel, “Mike Majlak Vlogs,” which he created in 2010 and has grown to attract over 2.75 million subscribers. In 2020, he co-authored “The Fifth Vital” with New York Times bestselling author Riley J. Ford. This memoir became a USA Today bestseller and chronicles Majlak’s personal struggles with opioid addiction and his journey to recovery.
