Milly Shapiro

Milly Shapiro is an American actress and singer born in Tampa, Florida, on July 16, 2002. She commenced her career in theatre, making her professional debut as Matilda Wormwood in the original Broadway production of “Matilda the Musical” from 2013 to 2014. For her performance, she, along with Sophia Gennusa, Bailey Ryon, and Oona Laurence, received a Tony Honor for Excellence in Theatre, making her the youngest recipient of this award. Shapiro also earned a Grammy nomination for “Best Musical Theater Album” for her contribution to the musical’s cast recording. Her early success on Broadway established her as a notable young talent in the performing arts.

Following her theatre work, Shapiro expanded into film and television. In 2018, she starred as Charlie Graham in the horror film “Hereditary,” a role that gained significant attention after its Sundance premiere. She also appeared in a 2018 episode of “Splitting Up Together” as Emma Rebecca. Her acting credits continued with voice roles as Princess Jezebel and Goldilox in “JJ Villard’s Fairy Tales” in 2020. This progression showcased her adaptability across different genres and mediums, moving from stage to screen successfully.

In recent years, Milly Shapiro has continued to diversify her artistic endeavors. In 2021, she co-created the band AFTERxCLASS with Spencer Arjang, where she contributes as a writer and singer, releasing singles such as “Honey,” “nice to be with you,” and “Following Laika,” and “Sunshower Daydreams.” She also performed as Sally Brown in an Off-Broadway production of “You’re a Good Man, Charlie Brown” in 2016. Her upcoming projects include the film “The Hallowarrior” as Pumpkin and the TV series “Hysteria!” as Ingrid in 2024, demonstrating her ongoing commitment to her acting and musical career.
