Miranda McKeon is a young actress whose already done Off-Broadway, major network television, and film all before graduating high school.
Ever since she was little, McKeon has had an interest in acting—and a natural talent. Being on the younger side of the program, when she was thirteen, she was accepted in the prestigious Class Act NY training program for aspiring young teens. Following her training, she had stage roles in Thoroughly Modern Millie Jr, and even was cast in Little Miss Sunshine off-Broadway at Second Stage Theatre.
Around the time of her freshman year of high school, McKeon earned her on-screen debut in the film, Little Boxes, playing the role of Julie Hanson. The movie premiered worldwide at the Tribeca Film Festival, and after being praised by the New York Times, Netflix acquired the rights.
After Little Boxes, when the executive producer for Anne with an E was casting the show (Miranda de Pencier), McKeon recorded her audition tape in her basement and sent it in: and that’s the tape Pencier chose, casting McKeon as Josie Pye, which happens to be the role that Pencier played in the original Anne of Green Gables. Following McKeon’s TV debut, she was interviewed in Vanity Fair.
With the success of Anne with an E, McKeon’s followers on Instagram skyrocketed to upwards of 670K. Now, she resides in Los Angeles and juggles college with a lucrative acting career.
