Nathalie Emmanuel

Nathalie Joanne Emmanuel was born on March 2, 1989, in Southend-on-Sea, Essex, England. Her mother is of Dominican origin, and her father has Saint Lucian and English heritage. Emmanuel’s interest in acting began at a young age, with her mother noting her passion. She attended St Hilda’s School and later Westcliff High School for Girls. At ten years old, she performed as Young Nala in the West End production of “The Lion King,” marking an early theatrical achievement.

Emmanuel’s screen career commenced in 2006 with her television debut as Sasha Valentine in the British soap opera “Hollyoaks.” She continued in this role until 2010, portraying a character involved in storylines addressing societal issues. In 2012, she presented “Websex: What’s the Harm?” for BBC Three, investigating online sexual behaviors among young adults in the UK. The same year, she made her film debut in the thriller “Twenty8k.” Her career progressed significantly in 2013 when she joined the cast of HBO’s “Game of Thrones” as Missandei.

By 2015, Emmanuel was promoted to a regular cast member on “Game of Thrones,” and she expanded her filmography with prominent roles. She played computer hacker Ramsey in the action film “Furious 7” and Harriet in the science fiction adventure “Maze Runner: The Scorch Trials.” Both roles contributed to her international recognition and demonstrated her versatility across genres. She reprised her role as Harriet in “Maze Runner: The Death Cure” in 2018 and Ramsey in subsequent “Fast & Furious” films, including “The Fate of the Furious” (2017), “F9” (2021), and “Fast X” (2023).
