Nayu Kiyohara

Nayu Kiyohara was born on May 1, 1991, in Osaka, Japan. She developed an interest in softball and became a catcher, a key defensive position in the sport. Her early career involved playing for Hitachi Sundiva, where she wore jersey number 21. Through dedicated training and consistent performance, Kiyohara established herself as a notable player within Japanese softball leagues. Her skills as a catcher and her contributions to her team’s defense were recognized, leading to her inclusion in the national team.

Kiyohara’s career reached a significant milestone when she was selected to represent Japan at the Tokyo 2020 Summer Olympics. She was part of the 15-player squad announced by the Japan Softball Association on March 23, 2021. The Japanese team, featuring both seasoned players and emerging talent, successfully competed in the Olympic tournament. Kiyohara and her teammates ultimately achieved a gold medal in the softball event, an important accomplishment for Japanese sport.
