Nicholas Joseph Braun was born on May 1, 1988, in Bethpage, New York. His father, Craig Braun, is an actor and graphic designer, known for co-designing The Rolling Stones’ tongue and lips logo. After his parents divorced when he was five, Braun split his time between his mother’s home in Connecticut and his father’s in Manhattan. He attended boarding school and pursued acting during summer breaks. While he initially enrolled at Occidental College as a math major, he left after two years to focus on his acting career, a path he began at a very young age with encouragement from his father.
Braun’s acting career began with early appearances in Disney productions. He made his film debut in “Sky High” (2005) as Zach, and also starred in Disney Channel Original Movies such as “Minutemen” (2008) and “Princess Protection Program” (2009). He gained further recognition with a recurring role as Cameron in the ABC Family series “10 Things I Hate About You” from 2009 to 2010. His transition into more prominent film roles included appearances in “Red State” (2011), “Prom” (2011), and “The Perks of Being a Wallflower” (2012), showcasing his range across various genres. He also participated in the web series “The LXD: The Legion of Extraordinary Dancers” (2010) as Cole Waters.
