Nick Pollard served as the CEO of Cory Environmental Group, later renamed Cory Riverside Energy, from November 2015 to April 2019. He was responsible for transforming the company from a diverse collection of assets into a focused waste logistics and Energy from Waste (EfW) business. Under his leadership, the company achieved significant operational improvements, including utilizing the River Thames for waste transport and developing its EfW facility.
Nick Pollard held senior executive roles at Balfour Beatty, including CEO of the UK Construction business. His tenure involved managing the UK construction operations and a range of directorships across various Balfour Beatty subsidiaries. He resigned from his role in June 2015.

Nick Pollard was born in June 1958 and has established a career in various leadership roles within the infrastructure, construction, and environmental sectors. His early career saw him hold directorships, progressing through significant companies like Skanska. From January 2005 to September 2007, he served as a Director and Managing Director for Skanska UK PLC, Skanska Construction UK Limited, Skanska Technology Limited, and Skanska J.V. Projects Ltd. He also held roles as Director and Managing Director for Skanska Major Projects Limited from October 2005 to August 2007. Prior to this, he was a Director for Genesa Limited from November 2002 to January 2005, where his occupation was noted as Civil Servant.
Pollard’s career continued to advance with key roles at Bovis Lend Lease and Balfour Beatty. Between 2007 and 2010, he held multiple director positions within the Bovis Construction and Lendlease Group, including Director for Bovis Construction (Europe) Limited, BEONSITE, Bovis Construction Holdings (Europe) Limited, BLFB Limited, Bovis Consulting (Europe) Limited, Bovis Construction (Scotland) Limited, and Lendlease Europe Holdings Limited. During his tenure at Balfour Beatty from October 2014 to July 2015, he was also a Director for numerous construction and civil engineering subsidiaries, including Balfour Beatty Construction Limited, Balfour Beatty Regional Construction Limited, Raynesway Construction Limited, Footprint Furniture Limited, Balfour Beatty Construction Scottish & Southern Limited, Balfour Beatty Ground Engineering Ltd, Balfour Beatty Civil Engineering Limited, Balfour Beatty Kilpatrick Limited, Balfour Beatty Build Limited, and Balfour Beatty Civils Limited.
Following his departure from Balfour Beatty, Pollard became the CEO of Cory Environmental Group in November 2015. At Cory, he orchestrated a significant transformation, evolving the company from a diverse collection of assets into a focused waste logistics and Energy from Waste (EfW) business. Under his leadership, Cory’s Riverside EfW facility became one of the UK’s largest, processing approximately 750,000 tonnes of non-recyclable waste annually, significantly reducing reliance on landfills and lorry transport by utilizing the River Thames. His leadership culminated in the acquisition of Cory in 2018 by an investor consortium. After stepping down from Cory in April 2019, he continued to pursue new opportunities, including chairing Tilbury Douglas Group and serving on the CBI Infrastructure Board.
