Lauren Magiera made history as the first person to hold an in-house communications position for the Green Bay Packers before joining WGN-TV in April 2016 as their first female sports anchor and reporter. After graduating from the University of Alaska Anchorage in 2009, Magiera began her career establishing a strong foundation in sports journalism in Alaska. She first served as the 10 o’clock sports anchor and subsequently became sports director for the ABC affiliate KIMO. Her journey continued as a sports anchor for the NBC affiliate KTUU, where she gained comprehensive experience across various aspects of sports television production, including anchoring, hosting in studios, and covering events on-site, preparing her for prominent roles.
