The wonderfully talented Lauren Magiera is a sportscaster and journalist, who made broadcasting history when she became WGN-TV’s first female sports anchor in 2016.
Born and raised in Chicago, Magiera later attended the University of Alaska to study Journalism and Public Communication. She also participated in NCAA Division I gymnastics under an athletic scholarship. After graduating in 2009, she began her broadcasting career with ABC Alaska News in Anchorage, whom she had worked for as a reporter during her Senior year at university. She served at the channel for a year before joining KTUU Channel 2 as a sports reporter in September 2010. In April 2012 she became sports director for ABC Wausau WAOW-TV, and then in April 2015 began working for the Green Bay Packers as an on-air personality. In April 2016, she joined the news team of WGN-TV as their first female sportscaster. She is currently their Weekend Anchor. She has also hosted her own hunting and fishing show, Outdoors with Lauren, as well as the football talk show, Pack Attack.
Magiera regularly connects with her legions of followers and fans through Instagram, and Twitter, posting pictures and videos about her life around sport and broadcasting. She is also available for that personalised shout-out via the Cameo platform.
