Nick Rimando

Nick Rimando carved out a legendary career as a goalkeeper in Major League Soccer. Born in Montclair, California, he navigated the myriad ups and downs of professional sports with the resolute quiet of a man who dedicated his life to goalkeeping. At UCLA, he shone brightly, earning a national title as a freshman before seamlessly transitioning to MLS in 2000. It seemed that with each passing season, Rimando was found more often in headlines—his saves, performances, and records kissing the headlines of sports sections across the nation.

His journey was anything but linear. He began with Miami Fusion, where he quickly made a name for himself and helped the team hoist the Supporters’ Shield in 2001.
