Nicky Doll

Fabulous French drag queen Nicky Doll, aka Karl Sanchez, is best known as a competitor on RuPaul’s Drag Race reality TV show. She regards herself as a 90’s-inspired life-sized doll, and her edgy fashion appearance is influenced by a multitude of stylistic movements, including Parisian underground nightlife and J-pop culture. She has an undeniable stage presence, and is a captivating dancer with a sparkling personality.

Sanchez was born and raised in Marseille, and trained as a make-up artist in high fashion. He created his drag persona, Nicky Doll, in 2009, and has since worked as a model and in fashion editorials with various publications, including Féroce Magazine, En vie Magazine, OUT, Lash, and Cosmopolitan. She relocated to the United States in 2015 and made a big impression in San Francisco when making her circuit debut at the notorious Black XXXMas. She has since gone on to perform in many world-class venues, and has shared the stage with various DJ stars, including Bob Sinclair, Nina Flowers, and Tommy Love. She was featured as part of the artwork of Aftershock 2017, and then made the move to New York City in 2018. She became the first French contestant on RuPaul’s Drag Race reality TV show in 2020.
