Ondrej Perusic

Ondrej Perusic was born on September 26, 1994, in Prague, Czech Republic. He followed in the footsteps of his parental grandfather, Boris Perusic, who was also an Olympic volleyball player for Czechoslovakia. Ondrej chose beach volleyball, beginning a career that would lead him to represent Czechia at the highest levels of the sport. His early career involved consistent participation in various tournaments, building experience and refining his skills.

Perusic’s career progression saw him compete in the Tokyo 2020 Summer Olympics, where he achieved an equal 19th place finish in the men’s beach volleyball event. This participation marked a significant milestone in his professional journey, showcasing his ability to compete on the global stage. He continued to compete and achieved further success, including a silver medal at the 2022 European Beach Volleyball Championships in Munich. This period demonstrated his consistent performance and growth within the sport.

A pivotal achievement for Perusic came in 2023 when he, alongside his partner David Schweiner, claimed the historic men’s title at the FIVB Beach Volleyball World Championships in Mexico. This victory solidified his position among the top beach volleyball athletes. He is also listed to participate in the Paris 2024 Summer Olympics, further indicating his sustained presence and competitive drive in international beach volleyball. His continuous engagement in high-level competitions reflects his dedication and ongoing contributions to the sport.
