Owain Sebastian Yeoman was born on July 2, 1978, in Chepstow, Monmouthshire, Wales. After studying English literature at Brasenose College, Oxford University, he initially worked at a bank in Canary Wharf, London. He then pursued his passion for acting, graduating from the Royal Academy of Dramatic Arts (RADA) in London in 2003 with the Henry Marshall Shield Winner distinction. His professional acting career began shortly thereafter with a role as Lysander, the Captain of the Trojan army, in the 2004 Warner Bros. film “Troy,” starring Brad Pitt.
Yeoman relocated to Los Angeles in 2004, where he transitioned to television. He secured leading roles in various projects, including “Commando Nanny” (2004) and the 2005 Fox comedy “Kitchen Confidential” alongside Bradley Cooper. In 2008, he played a significant role as Sgt. Eric Kocher in the HBO miniseries “Generation Kill” and was cast as the main T-888 terminator in the pilot episode of “Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles.” His most recognized television role came as CBI detective Wayne Rigsby in the CBS series “The Mentalist,” where he starred for over six years (2008–2015) across 132 episodes.
His career continued with diverse projects, including a lead role in the independent horror feature “Chromeskull: Laid to Rest 2” (2011) and the festival short film “AbsolutSin” (2012). In 2014, he reunited with Bradley Cooper in Clint Eastwood’s “American Sniper.” From 2015 to 2017, Yeoman played General Benedict Arnold in the TV series “TURN: Washington’s Spies” (30 episodes). He also appeared as Vartox in “Supergirl” (2015) and Terry Winter in “The Belko Experiment” (2016). More recently, he held a main role as Benny Gallagher in “Emergence” (2019-2020) for 13 episodes and played Sean in “Brahms: The Boy II” (2020), Oliver Lewis in “SAS: Red Notice” (2021), and David in “Save the Cinema” (2022). He has also had guest roles in “The Blacklist” (2017), “Elementary” (2016), “CSI: Vegas” (2024), and has upcoming appearances in “Bosch: Legacy” (2025) and “Tracker” (2025).
Beyond acting, Yeoman is an animal rights advocate, collaborating with PETA and the Humane Society (USA). He is also involved in business ventures as a Partner and Chief Commercial Officer of edYOU TECHNOLOGIES and Principal Producer and CEO at SHOWMAN PRODUCTIONS.
