Paige Hadley was born on August 26, 1992, in Sydney, New South Wales, Australia. She began playing netball at the age of seven, starting her junior career with the Penrith District Netball Association and the St Clair club. Hadley later attended Hills Sports High School and St Marys Senior High School before enrolling at Western Sydney University, where she completed a Bachelor of Business & Commerce degree. Her early netball career saw her represent New South Wales at various junior levels (17/U, 19/U, 21/U National Netball Championships), winning multiple titles. In 2010, she made her debut in the Australian Netball League with the NNSW Blues, before joining the Netball NSW Waratahs in 2011 and contributing to their maiden ANL title. Her dedication to both academics and athletics demonstrates a consistent commitment to performance from a young age.
Hadley’s career progressed significantly in 2012 when she received a scholarship to the Australian Institute of Sport and made her ANZ Championship debut for the NSW Swifts as a temporary replacement player. In 2013, she signed with the NSW Swifts and was named in the Australian 21/U team for the World Youth Netball Championships, where she earned a silver medal. That same year, she was selected for her first Australian Diamonds Squad, making her senior international debut on October 16, 2013, against the Malawi Queens. She was even named Most Valuable Player in her second game for the Diamonds, and later received the Australian 21/U Player of the Year award. Hadley experienced a significant setback in 2014, rupturing her left anterior cruciate ligament, which ruled her out of the season. However, she made a successful comeback in 2015, playing a crucial role in Australia’s victory at the 2015 Netball World Cup.
Throughout her career, Paige Hadley has consistently performed at an elite level, becoming a co-captain of the NSW Swifts and a prominent member of the Australian Diamonds. After overcoming challenges such as an ankle injury that prevented her participation in the 2018 Commonwealth Games, she went on to achieve Commonwealth Games gold in 2022. Her versatility across all midcourt positions and her leadership have made her a valuable player in the league. Hadley’s career is marked by resilience and a continuous pursuit of excellence, reflected in her numerous national and international achievements.
