Razia Quashie has been with the club for so long; her partnership with Raz is also incredibly important. She will embark on her seventh season and is currently working hard on her rehab to be back firing for the 2023 campaign.
Razia Quashie was born on September 16, 1997, in Saint Vincent and the Grenadines. Her introduction to netball occurred during childhood, largely influenced by her mother’s involvement in the sport. Although she participated in various sports initially, netball became her primary focus. Educated with a degree in Sports Science from Brunel University and a Masters degree, Quashie initially played in a shooter position up until sixth form. At approximately 16 years old, she transitioned to play in the defensive third, a pivotal change in her career path.
Her defensive abilities became evident, leading her to trial for the Regional Performance Academy. After three months in the academy, Quashie was selected for England U19s, traveling to Jamaica with the team. This was followed by selection for the U21s, where she participated in the World Youth Cup program. Since 2017, Quashie has been part of the Vitality Roses program, making her senior international debut against Jamaica in 2018. She has accumulated 28 caps for England. Quashie has been a consistent presence with the London Mavericks since 2017, where she was recognized as the Players’ Player of the Season in 2019 for her contributions on court.
Throughout her career, Quashie has navigated challenges, including two Achilles injuries in 2021 and 2022, from which she successfully returned in 2023. Her international career highlights include securing a bronze medal with the England team at the 2023 Fast5 Netball World Series. She also contributed to England’s victories in the 2024 Taini Jamison Trophy and the 2025 Netball Nations Cup, demonstrating her continued impact on the national and club netball scenes.
