Stacey Francis-Bayman

Stacey Francis-Bayman, born on January 1, 1988, in Birmingham, West Midlands, began her netball journey at a young age with the Bromsgrove-based Ryland Netball Club. Before focusing on netball, she also participated in association football and basketball. After her family emigrated to Canada when she was 17, Stacey chose to remain in England to continue her education and pursue her netball career. She attended the University of Bath, earning a BSc in Sports Performance, and later Cardiff Metropolitan University, where she completed an MA in English. Her dedication to the sport began early, laying the groundwork for a distinguished career.

Francis-Bayman’s senior playing career commenced in 2005 with Team Bath, where she was the youngest member of their inaugural Netball Superleague squad at 17. She made a significant impact, contributing to five Superleague titles between 2005 and 2013. Her individual achievements include being named Netball Superleague Player of the Season in both 2011 and 2013 and being inducted into the University of Bath/Team Bath Hall of Fame for Sport in 2017. Her career also saw her play for Canterbury Tactix in the ANZ Championship and West Coast Fever in Suncorp Super Netball, reaching the 2018 Suncorp Super Netball grand final with the latter. She was part of the West Coast Fever team that won the 2022 Suncorp Super Netball premiership.

Internationally, Francis-Bayman made her senior debut for England in September 2010. She was a key member of the England teams that secured bronze medals at the 2010 Commonwealth Games and the 2011 and 2015 Netball World Cups. She also helped England win the 2011 World Netball Series. After a decorated playing career, Francis-Bayman has transitioned into an Athlete Director role for the Netball World Cup Sydney 2027, focusing on strategic and operational leadership within the sport. Her commitment to netball extends beyond playing, encompassing significant contributions to its development and representation.
