Matt Thomas (lead vocals, guitar) and Scott Thomas (drums) are brothers in an American country music band called Parmalee that also includes their cousin Barry Knox (bass) and Josh McSwain (guitar), who has been a best friend since childhood. “Feels Like Carolina,” “27861,” and “For You” are their three studio albums. Six of the band’s songs have charted on Billboard’s Hot Country Songs and Country Airplay charts. On the latter, they’ve had two number-one singles: “Carolina” in 2013 and “Just the Way,” a collaboration with Blanco Brown, in 2021.
While starting out in Nashville, the band recorded their first collaboration and breakout hit called “Musta Had a Good Time” in the back of their RV. It was inspired by their real lives having lived together in a party legendary party house in their small hometown.In June 2012, the band was featured as a Billboard “Bubbling Under” artist. A live performance video for the song debuted on AOL’s TheBoot.com in mid 2012 and the music video followed later that year. They went on to be named Clear Channel’s NEW! Artist to Watch and the song was named one of CountryMusicIsLove.com’s Top 15 Songs of Summer. Twisted Tea’s commercial featured Parmalee’s “Day Drinkin’.” The commercial premiered during the Daytona 500. After “Carolina” reached number one on the charts, they also released “Close Your Eyes” and “Already Callin’ You Mine” to top 10 hits success.
