Leading the St. Louis Bandits to their first Robertson Cup National Championship title in 2007, Patrick Maroon distinguished himself early in his career by setting a North American Hockey League (NAHL) record for most points in a single postseason with 23 points in 12 playoff games. That same year, he was named NAHL MVP and drafted by the Philadelphia Flyers in the sixth round (161st overall) of the NHL Entry Draft. His junior career included a standout season with the Texarkana Bandits in 2005-06, where he recorded 60 points in 57 games and earned a spot on the NAHL’s All-Rookie Team.
The following season with the St. Louis Bandits saw him achieve 95 points in 57 games. Maroon made his NHL debut with the Anaheim Ducks in the 2011-12 season, establishing himself as a regular player by the 2013-14 season with 11 goals and 18 assists in 62 games. His notable performance in the 2015 Stanley Cup Playoffs included scoring 11 points (seven goals, four assists) while playing on the Ducks’ top line.
Maroon continued his impactful career with the Tampa Bay Lightning until 2023, contributing to their sustained success. Following his departure, he went on to play for the Minnesota Wild, Boston Bruins, and Chicago Blackhawks, demonstrating his enduring presence and value in the league. Patrick Maroon announced his retirement from the NHL in March 2025, concluding a distinguished career with his final game played on April 13, 2025.
