Petra Martic

Petra Martic turned professional in July 2008 and quickly established her presence on the international tennis circuit, securing her first singles title at the Zagreb Ladies Open in 2008, followed by the ITF Biella in 2009. Her consistent performance led to her entering the top 100 in singles rankings by September 2009. Martic achieved her first top-20 victory in 2010 and earned her first top-50 year-end ranking in 2011. She reached her inaugural WTA Tour final at the Malaysian Open in March 2012, demonstrating her rising prowess, and notably advanced to the fourth round of the French Open later that year.

That year, she also added another WTA 125 singles title in Cagliari. Her consistent performance at major tournaments saw her reach the fourth round of Wimbledon in 2019 and the US Open in both 2019 and 2020, further solidifying her presence in the latter stages of Grand Slam competitions. In 2021, Martic reached the semifinal of a WTA 1000 event at the Italian Open, a testament to her sustained competitive level. Her career achievements further expanded in July 2022 when Martic captured her second WTA Tour singles title at the Ladies Open Lausanne.

She continued her strong Grand Slam record that year by reaching the fourth round of Wimbledon for the third time. Throughout her career, Martic has earned two singles titles on the WTA Tour, one singles and one doubles title on the WTA Challenger Tour, and accumulated four singles and five doubles titles on the ITF Circuit.
