Petra Martić partnered with J.Lindeberg at the beginning of 2022, becoming one of their first tennis ambassadors as the brand expanded into the sport. She expressed enthusiasm for collaborating with a brand that shares her passion for sustainability.
Petra Martic was born on January 19, 1991, in Split, Croatia. Raised in Duće before relocating to Split at age 10, she began playing tennis at a young age. Martic faced personal challenges early in life, with her father passing away when she was five; her mother’s perseverance in raising her motivated Martic to pursue excellence in tennis.
Martic turned professional in July 2008 and achieved a career-high singles ranking of world No. 14 in January 2020. Throughout her career, she has secured two singles titles on the WTA Tour, one singles and one doubles title on the WTA Challenger Tour, and accumulated four singles and five doubles titles on the ITF Circuit. Her career has been marked by both significant accomplishments, such as reaching the quarterfinals of the French Open in 2019, and periods challenged by injuries, including a major back injury between 2013 and 2016 that led to a temporary hiatus from competitive play.
Following her comeback, Martic returned to the top 100 in 2017 and continued to rebuild her career. She has demonstrated consistency in Grand Slam events, reaching the fourth round at the Australian Open in 2018, Wimbledon in 2017, 2019, and 2022, and the US Open in 2019 and 2020. Her resilient approach and competitive spirit have enabled her to achieve and maintain a significant presence in professional tennis.
