Her early interest in music developed through a love of choreography, with her Brooklyn upbringing influencing her taste in urban music and dance. She further pursued ballet and gymnastics during summers spent in the Dominican Republic with her father. Her professional career began in the hip-hop music industry, where she modeled at age 19.
