Philip DeFranco, known as PhillyD, is an American media host and YouTube personality recognized for his news commentary show, “The Philip DeFranco Show,” covering current events in politics and pop culture. After creating his YouTube channel ‘sxephil’ in 2006, Philip DeFranco rapidly built a substantial audience, evolving his content into the highly influential ‘The Philip DeFranco Show,’ covering current events in politics and pop culture. Early in his career, DeFranco’s innovative approach to online news was evident with the ‘Big Boobs and You’ experiment in August 2007, which garnered 1.8 million views. In September 2008, he won a Spore Creature Creator game promotion, donating $15,000 to the PKD Foundation, and was subsequently recognized as Wired’s Sexiest Geek of 2008 in December.
