World-class football talent Philippe Coutinho is an attacking midfielder known for his ability to create curving long-range strikes. Since arriving at Premier League club Aston Villa on loan from Barcelona in January 2022 the Brazilian has been on stunning form, impressing with his passing, vision and dribbling skills. Although the winger is more than happy to adapt to any system to suit his game and whoever else is on pitch, he mostly flourishes in a free role sat behind two centre-forwards. The talented playmaker has treated Villa to some outstanding performances since he joined the club, and many fans hope he will move to Villa Park permanently.
Hailing from Rio de Janeiro, the Brazilian showed prodigious talent as a youngster and moved rapidly through Vasco da Gama’s youth system. Italian legends Inter Milan snapped up the winger for €4 million in 2008, and he was then loaned
back to Vasco becoming a key player for the side. After a short spell La Liga club Espanyol he joined Liverpool, where he began to flourish and was named in the 2015 PFA Team of the Year.
Coutinho moved to Barcelona for a fee reported to be worth €160 million, but went on loan to Bayern Munich becoming part of the 2019-20 treble-winning team before arriving at Villa on loan at the start of 2022. The Brazilian has also represented his country on many occasions, earning his 50th cap at the 2019 Copa América.
